THE SUPER BIG TRAMP BAND

The line-up is the usual jazz big band instrumentation - trumpets, trombones, saxophones and rhythm section.

We play versions of Supertramp tunes, arranged by members of the band, with me as the chief soloist. No vocals.

We will play at the Manchester Jazz festival in May, Hull in November, Hamburg in December and Europe next year!

WHEN I WAS YOUNG…

I will do some gigs and record an album of ballads with a string quartet and a Hammond organ. The arrangements are being done by that great composer/arranger/saxophonist - Andy Scott.

The musicians are myself on tenor saxophone and clarinet, "The Singh String Quartet" led by Rakhi Singh, and the mighty Hammond organ will be played by one of my favourite musicians - and a member of “Crème Anglaise” - John Ellis

We will play at Storyhouse in Chester in July, Ambleside, Cumbria, in August and the rest of the world starting in 2020! See “live” on this site for more information about both projects, and other gigs at which I will be a guest.

>> WORLD PREMIER! At Storyhouse in Chester on Saturday July 27th. A performance of ballads, folk tunes etc. by me (tenor saxophone and clarinet) John Ellis (Hammond organ) and the Deva String Quartet. The arrangements are by Andy Scott. If you are there, you can participate in our "live" recording! https://www.storyhouse.com/event/when-i-was-young
